It’s Your Passion for Serving Others that Counts
Heritage Christian Services is a place where you can put your faith into action every day. In a direct support role at Heritage Christian, bring your whole self to the job – including your passionate belief that all people matter. Our staff works with people who have disabilities in Rochester and Buffalo to make sure they have access to housing, jobs and other things that make life better. Their work happens where life happens, so sometimes they go with people to church or to a book club or to a movie. But wherever they are, they treat people with respect and dignity.
In a direct support role, you may support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by:
- supporting their personal faith;
- teaching independent living skills;
- assisting with personal care;
- advocating for inclusive communities;
- encouraging growth in personal relationships; and
- assisting people to fulfill in their lives what matters most to them.
Heritage Christian was established over 40 years ago by three sets of parents of children with developmental disabilities. They had a vision for an agency with a culture where all of God’s children are valued. In our workplace, we value things like serving others and ourselves with dignity, respect, humility and open hearts through Christian compassion.
